Horses
The Horse Show is one of the Rockhampton Show's most cherished traditions, uniting riders and their magnificent horses in a breathtaking display of equestrian excellence, teamwork and dedication to the sport.
The competitions feature a diverse array of breeds, including elegant thoroughbreds and sturdy Australian Stockhorses, as well as quarter horses, Welsh ponies, Australian ponies, and charming miniature horses.
Competitors demonstrate their skills across multiple disciplines, with classes for led, harness, and ridden events, as well as the ever-popular showjumping.
The partnership between horse and handler shines through in every category, from show hacks to precision movements.
What will spectators see?
Experience two full days of equestrian events in two rings, where skilled riders navigate challenging showjumping courses and present polished dressage performances.
Watch handlers present their horses with pride in led classes, and marvel at the precision of harness events.
Don't miss the spectacular Grand Parade on June 12, where all exhibitors come together in a impressive display of horsemanship and showmanship.
With competitions running throughout both Show Days, visitors can enjoy the grace, power, and beauty of these magnificent animals in action.
All of the horse events promise a fun and friendly atmosphere, making it a great outing for horse lovers and families.
There’s even a Fashions on the Field class, if you’re planning to dress your best!
How are the Horse Competitions judged?
Entries are judged on various factors, including performance accuracy, rider skill, horse condition, and overall presentation.
