Stud & Commercial Cattle
The Cattle Competitions stand as one of the cornerstones of the Rocky Show, befitting our region's status as Australia's Beef Capital.
This prestigious event draws the finest stud and commercial cattle from across Central Queensland, showcasing exceptional breeding programs and superior livestock genetics.
From impressive bulls to quality heifers, the stud and commercial cattle competitions represent generations of breeding excellence and the strength of our regional cattle industry.
Young handlers from local schools and farming families from stations far and wide demonstrate their skills in judging and parading events, carrying forward our proud agricultural heritage to the upcoming generations.
The competitions celebrate both seasoned breeders and emerging talent, highlighting the future of our vital cattle industry.
What will spectators see?
Experience the grandeur of show ring judging beside the Robert Schwarten Pavilion, where these magnificent cattle of many breeds parade before expert judges across both Show Days.
Watch our future cattle industry leaders compete in junior events, and see the pride of exhibitors as they present their prized animals.
From imposing bulls to the frisky young calves, the diversity and quality of breeds on display is always impressive.
Be sure to join in the popular ‘Guess the Weight’ competition and enjoy the up close and person experience of time-honoured traditions of cattle showing.
This is your chance to appreciate the dedication and expertise that maintains Rockhampton’s position as a leader in Australia's beef industry.
