Rocky Show Fine Arts Competitions

The Fine Art Competition at the Rocky Show celebrates local artists of all ages, featuring both open and junior categories. Artists can submit works in various styles, including landscapes, seascapes, and flora and fauna. This event highlights the creativity and talent within our community.

What will spectators see?

Spectators can look forward to a variety of artworks on display in the James Lawrence Pavilion, showcasing different styles and themes. It’s a great opportunity to appreciate local talent and connect with the artists.

How is Fine Arts judged?

Entries are judged on creativity, technique, and presentation. Judges also consider how well the artwork fits its category and the artist's overall expression.

Key Dates

Nominations Close: Friday 30 May 2025

Exhibit Delivery: Please deliver to the James Lawrence Pavilion (access via New Exhibition Road) 8am – 5pm Friday 6 June or 10am – 4pm Saturday 7 June 2025.

Judging: Wednesday 11 June 2025

Exhibit Collection: Please collect your exhibit from the James Lawrence Pavilion (access via New Exhibition Road) on Saturday 14 June 2025 8am – 12pm.

Who organises the Fine Art Competition?

This competition is organised by the Rockhampton Agricultural Show Committee. The Committee can be contacted by emailing show@rrc.qld.gov.au or calling 4936 8800.
