Fine Arts Competition
The Fine Arts Competition displays the outstanding skills of our amateur artists from the Rockhampton region.
Creating beautiful pieces to astonish the senses and expand artistic horizons, this year’s competition includes categories for junior, open and disability entries.
Artists can submit works on various themes, including landscapes, seascapes, flora and fauna, and any other subject, using any medium or combination of media.
The work must be original and created in the last two years. Have a look at the Fine Arts Competition Schedule to see where your recent artwork could be entered.
What will spectators see?
Visitors to the James Lawrence Pavilion will see all the entries proudly displayed and enjoy the opportunity to admire the talent and creative expression of all ages and abilities in our community.
It’s a great opportunity to appreciate local talent and connect with the artists.
How is Fine Arts judged?
Entries are judged on creativity, technique, and presentation. Judges also consider how well the artwork fits its category and the artist's overall expression.
