Every year at the Rocky Show, the talents and skills of our gardeners and horticulturalists is on show for spectators to admire.

The Horticulture Competition categories are always hotly contested, as locals vie for coveted awards.

The beauty of nature is on full display in gorgeous flowers and greenery, as well as amazing examples of vegetables and fruit. A walk through the Horticulture Pavilion is a delightful and inspiring experience in cool, beautiful surroundings - not to be missed!

What will spectators see?

How is Horticulture judged?

Judges award places to each entry using several criteria, including overall presentation, colour, and freshness.

The judges also consider the use of techniques and the care taken in growing each entry.

The Horticulture Competition is organised by the Rockhampton Horticultural Society.

Entering the 2025 Competitions

Key dates

Nominations Close: Monday 9 June 2025 and entries into the competition are free in 2025.

Exhibit Delivery: Please deliver to the Horticultural Pavilion between 9am - 5pm on Tuesday 10 June 2025.

Judging: Wednesday 11 June 2025 Exhibit Collection: Please collect from the Horticultural Pavilion from 9am - 12pm on Saturday 14 June 2025.
