What will spectators see?
You’ll be treated to a fascinating display of photographs highlighting the diverse talents of our photographers.
The exhibition is located in the McCamley Pavilion and will feature a wide range of themes and styles.
This year's exhibition promises to be a visual journey through our region's landscapes, culture, and daily life, with sections dedicated to both colour and monochrome works.
From intimate macro photography revealing hidden natural worlds to sweeping aerial views, each image tells a story.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the technical excellence on display, while all visitors can connect with the perfectly captured moments, frozen in time. Remember to vote for your favourite print in the People’s Choice Category!
How is the Photography Competition judged?
Judges evaluate entries based on key criteria such as composition, creativity, and technical execution.
They will also consider factors like clarity, use of light, and originality.

Key dates
Nominations Close: Monday 26 May 2025
Exhibit Delivery: Please deliver to the Rockhampton Showgrounds Admin Office 8am – 4pm Monday 26 May - Friday 30 May 2025.
Judging: Thursday 5 June (Public, High School & Primary) and Friday 6 June 2025 (Open and champions)
Exhibit Collection: Please collect your exhibit from the McCamley Pavilion 8am – 10pm on Saturday 14 June 2025.
